Precisely made. Heavy, and smaller than I expected. Each ring is like a Hostess Donette in size. The black finish wears slightly along the hard edges, and the inside surface shows small scuffs. I don't think it'll wear off the object entirely, and I personally like the patina. Solving the puzzle is challenging and pretty obvious when you see it. I wish it were a little easier to slide it in and out of the solved mode - the nature of the solution means that there's no nice, smooth way to continuously slither the pieces across one another without meticulously lining up as many as four very small connectors, none of which you can see, to get the whole apparatus to move. But that might just be a skill issue. Cool puzzle.

That is an extremely satisfying puzzle. The way the pieces are tungling together is so exciting! It reminds me of two of my favorite Hanayama puzzles: Donuts and Marble. It looks like Donuts, but acts like Marble. However Wavelinks is a cut above in quality, it is more interesting, it feels much more solid. Anyway I like having them all. Displaying Donuts as a little brother togather with solid and bigger Wavelinks is pretty interesting. Especially considering that they have different solutions and different mechanics. And you can assemble Wavelinks in two ways: a black donut and a white donut or two black and white donuts )

The skill required to hold all four pieces is a great challenge.
