We just try not to call them that. They have names like Swingtop Lighter, Chroma Scissors, and Wilson Keyring.

On any given Tuesday, someone on our design team — led by co-founder Hunter Craighill — has a pair of calipers out. Someone else is passionately advocating for a specific hinge angle. Desks are littered with sketches and design books, and there's a prototype or two that was almost right, but now it’s bound for the archive. Onward and upward. 

This devotion to iteration, precision, and just plain getting-it-right is all in service of making objects we want to live with. Objects that work so well, for so long, while bringing such joy that they begin to feel like extensions of ourselves. 

Too many daily objects have become cheap, less effective, or just flat-out boring. You pick them up and feel nothing, except for the dull hint of disappointment. That's a real shame, and it’s something we won’t accept.

Our antidote is to make objects that meet the needs of the everyday, every day. And ideally, a good long while after that. That’s why we call our warranty the For Life Guarantee.

We've been doing this up in our little corner of North Brooklyn since 2015, and even if we weren't here making these objects, we'd still be somewhere wishing they were in our lives.
