Really well designed. Like the caliper option on a desk ruler as a maker. It's great to hold in the hand and the adjustable caliper holds its measurement yet is easy to open and close.

I'm sure the description told me the effective measuring size of the ruler. I'm not sure I read it! The device is a mechanical caliper. The opening isn't as large as I envisioned. I did successfully size an insert to our bathroom sink and thus ordered the proper aerator. That win is enough to recommend the product!
