The product of a years-long collaboration with Chen Chen and Kai Williams, the Sidewinder is an enigmatic kinetic sculpture moonlighting as a knife.

Named for the oscillating tracks left in the sand by its serpentine namesake, motion is at the core of the Sidewinder Knife’s design philosophy. Rather than a fixed handle, it has an interlocking mechanical hilt, with two opposing elements moving in sympathy with the blade itself to produce a truly unique unsheathing mechanism.

Formed entirely of stone washed and black PVD-coated stainless steel, the Sidewinder boasts a heft that feels authoritative in the hand, but never unwieldy. It’s perfectly pocketable, but remains equally content to be displayed on a desk, a shelf, or a mantle, proudly soaking in the wonder and admiration its curious form will undoubtedly attract.

Sidewinder Knife

Very interesting and a great show piece, but far too heavy for a day carry knife. Beats a hole in your pocket as well bashes any other pocket contents (like expensive key fobs... ask me how I know!) Although slightly more costly, there should be an optional aluminum frame (tough 7075-T6 or slightly lighter 2024-T3) with a steel blade, or even a lighter frame AND blade, titanium option for those so interested, and they (me) certainly would be once they feel the heft of this nearly all steel knife. The Sidewinder Knife is almost a solid hit, but way missed the "daily use" mark.

A must have!

Very precision and catchy smooth that any true knife enthusiast must have, a bit pricey but holds its own!

A unique knife, but not for a serious knife user.

This knife is unique and definitely something to fidget with. It is very well made and engineered. Most serious EDC knife users want a knife that they can open and close one-handed. Although with some practice and dexterity it can be opened with one hand, but closing it is more difficult. The knife is also on the heavy side for its size. It is a very solid knife and probably something a collector would want.
