Designed in collaboration with sommelier André Hueston Mack, the Best Wine Key is more than a hunk of articulated steel with a boastful name. It’s the final answer to a longstanding question: how do I get this wine out of this bottle? There have been attempts to answer this query, and while there remain some adequate methods for addressing the issue, we really think we knocked it out of the park here.

The Best Wine Key boasts a substantial presence in the user’s hand, a tactile reminder of its oenological authority. Its foil knife is precisely angled to keep the serrated blade on task as it makes its rounds, and the ratcheted swingarm mechanism transforms the once tedious chore of cork extraction into a smooth, satisfying ritual. Even with near infinite combinations of bottles, caps, corks, and casks to explore, nothing pairs with all of them better than The Best.

The Best Wine Key is available in standard Big Red, Noir, and Tortoise editions and limited Blue Marble, Red Marble, and Amalgam editions.

    The body and corkscrew are crafted from stainless steel in three finishes: brushed (Big Red), PVD-coated (Noir), and polished (Tortoise). The Big Red and Noir handles feature dimpled PPE scales, while the Tortoise handle is made from cellulose acetate.

  • How is this different from a standard corkscrew?

    The Best Wine Key is engineered for a smoother, more enjoyable uncorking experience. It combines a sharp worm, a ratcheting lever, and a folding serrated foil cutter in one streamlined design — balancing precision, function, and aesthetics.

  • Is it good for older, brittle corks or synthetic corks?

    Yes! The ratcheting mechanism pulls the cork straight up and out, reducing the risk of brittle corks breaking — a common issue with standard wine keys. The sharp worm is designed to handle both natural and synthetic corks with ease.

Best Wine Key!

It’s a definite best wine key I’ve ever used. Honestly, it was confusing to use at first, just because it has multiple functions. Once you get used to it, it’s smooth, flow like a pro. Especially, if you work in hospitality industry. Love it. Hope in the future, they will adjust to be lighter versions.

Wine key

Overall I’m pretty happy with it. I’m still getting used to it, but it works just as expected. It is slightly bigger than my old wine opener, but it’s not a deal breaker.

well Engineered Corkscrew

This Corkscrew takes a bit of time to get completely comfortable with, but works well. If it had a bit better worm, just slightly onger, it would get five stars. As it is, it will not replace the Durand Corkscrew for old wines with longer corks, but works brilliantly.

Totally Obsessed

It took a few bottles for me to get a feel for it, but once I locked in I was hooked. I take this with me when bringing wine to other's houses to evangelize it's glory. A fantastic and sturdy tool that puts even my favorite waiter's corkscrew to shame. Pricey for sure, but justify it as a present to yourself and live your best life.
