While I can't call myself a connoisseur of rulers, I can call myself picky. If there's something living on my desk that doesn't sit quite right with me, my brain is going to let me know. So I'm pleased to report that I've been living in harmony with the metrolog ruler for some time now. The caliper-like design certainly ups its utility as compared to the average ruler. In hand it feels substantial, but not imposing or cumbersome. All things considered, it's a relatively simple tool/object, and it doesn't feature any pyrotechnics – but it beats any number of thin, flat rulers I could be struggling to pry from a surface. TL;DR: Looks good, does its job. Point on the board for Craighill.

Craighill is the kind of company that makes a paperweight look cool. Unsurprisingly, the Metrolog Ruler is no exception. From manufacturing, to ease of movement, to style and build - it's simple, utilitarian, and mod. The kind of thing on one's desk that when noticed, is instantly envied.

A fun and delightfully tactile ruler. The visual style reminds me a bit of Rapture from Bioshock (Art Deco).
