Performance Creative Video Editor (Paid Social)

Brooklyn (Greenpoint), NY — Full-time, In-Person
Reports to: Head of Marketing
Salary: $75,000–$85,000, commensurate with experience

Craighill is hiring a Performance Creative Video Editor (Paid Social) to build and run our paid social creative engine, producing high-volume, design-forward ads that scale what’s already working organically.

About Craighill

Craighill is a Brooklyn-based design studio creating enduring, beautiful, and useful objects with a deep commitment to ingenuity, curiosity, and long-term creative ambition. From our Greenpoint studio, we’ve built one of the largest design-focused organic social accounts in our category, with more than half a million followers across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. We’re building an independent company meant to endure for generations — focused on durability in product, culture, and creative integrity.

Over the past year, our organic videos have fueled rapid growth. Our next chapter is building a performance creative machine that honors our design principles while producing high-volume, high-quality output. The goal is to reach the people already paying attention and bring them more fully into our world.

Role Overview

You will own paid video creative for Meta, TikTok, and YouTube. Your core work is producing 10–20 new creative assets each week, roughly 70 percent iterations and 30 percent new tests, within a clear weekly testing cadence.

This is our first in-house performance creative role, and you’ll operate with substantial autonomy: capturing, editing, iterating, and organizing assets independently, while collaborating closely with our Head of Marketing and studio team.

Success after 90 days looks like a reliable weekly creative rhythm, structured testing matrices that accelerate learning, and a steady increase in the quality and volume of creative content we’re putting into the world.

Key Responsibilities (Primary)

  • Edit and produce short-form paid social ads with strong pacing, motion instincts, and narrative clarity
  • Deliver 10–20 weekly creative assets (70 percent iterations, 30 percent new tests)
  • Build structured test matrices across hooks, pacing, framing, overlays, and sound
  • Recut and adapt existing organic assets into platform-native paid variations
  • Identify and scale top-performing structures using early performance signals (thumbstop, hold curves, watch time patterns)
  • Apply light design and copywriting to improve clarity and conversion
  • Keep assets organized, naming tight, and workflows crisp
  • Balance speed and rigor while maintaining Craighill’s design-forward creative bar

Supporting Responsibilities (Secondary)

To keep our paid work grounded in real studio life, you’ll occasionally capture lightweight behind-the scenes moments that can inform new ad concepts.

  • Capture occasional studio BTS moments as inputs for ad ideation
  • Post Stories or quick process clips when useful and low-lift
  • Light scanning of comments/DMs to surface sentiment or hooks for new ads
  • Develop select BTS captures into Reels as our system matures

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience editing short-form paid social content, ideally with Meta/TikTok exposure
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-volume variations and recuts for active campaigns
  • Strong instincts in pacing, rhythm, motion, and narrative clarity
  • Experience analyzing early performance signals (thumbstop, hold curves, top-performing structures)
  • Baseline fluency in Premiere, After Effects, and Figma
  • Light graphic design and copywriting ability
  • Comfortable operating within weekly testing cadences
  • Low-ego, collaborative, energized by in-person creative work
  • Genuine interest in design, craft, and building something enduring

Personal Attributes

  • Fast and Precise: You move quickly while maintaining clarity and intention in every edit.
  • Independent and Resourceful: You thrive with autonomy — analyzing, cutting, and iterating without needing heavy direction.
  • Observant and Community-Aware: You notice the small moments, signals, and comments that reveal what people care about, and you translate them into creative opportunities.
  • Experimental and Insight-Driven: You test, learn, and refine. You’re energized by discovering what works and why.
  • Collaborative and Good-Humored: You bring warmth and low ego to the creative environment, building trust across the team.
  • Values-Driven: You embody Craighill’s principles of Ingenuity, Empathy, Endurance, and Wonder in how you approach problems and people.

Benefits

  • Employer-subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • OneMedical membership
  • Paid holidays
  • Paid time off and sick leave
  • Employee discount on Craighill and partner products
